After defeating Spanish River just a week ago in their own Homecoming game, the Chiefs looked to build on their win with another against Park Vista on their own Homecoming game.
Despite the valiant effort from the Chiefs, Park Vista proved to be too much on both sides of the ball, as they would go on to defeat the Chiefs by a final score of 28-7.
Park Vista would first strike near the end of the first quarter, when quarterback Tyler Thomas took a 10 yard keeper into the end zone following two big plays set up by Thomas that put the Cobras into the red zone.
Near the end of the second quarter, the Cobras would double their lead once again because of Tyler Thomas, his second touchdown of the game. The touchdown capped off a short drive for the Cobras, who started the drive at the 21 yard line of the Chiefs.
Right before halftime, the Chiefs would get back into the game when senior tight end Tony McFadden scored on a receiving touchdown. The score gave the Chiefs momentum right before the break.
In the second half, the Cobras would take control of the game. Early in the third quarter, a short touchdown run by Thomas would regain the Cobras’ 14-point lead. The Cobras would build on the lead later in the third quarter on a score.
The Chiefs defense once again proved to be strong, allowing just 28 points to one of the district’s best offenses. The 28 points scored is one of the lowest totals for the Cobras in the district.
The Chiefs (5-4) will look to finish their season on a high-note against Olympic Heights soon.
