Laura Garcia, a sophomore on the girls’ varsity volleyball team is a Libero who has been playing on multiple teams since the 5th grade. She has been playing on the varsity team since the start of her 9th-grade year and plans to continue playing for varsity until the end of her senior year.
After high school, Laura is hoping to attend the University of Central Florida and when asked if she hopes to receive a volleyball scholarship.
“I’m not sure yet whether or not I wanna play volleyball after high school but I did hear that they have a really good pre-med program at UCF and that’s what I’m hoping to do there,” says Garcia.
When asked how she feels about her teammates Laura stated,
“I feel close and depended on by a few of them but others I feel like we could really work on our connection to make the team better.”
As well as balancing good grades and the volleyball team Laura also stated that she is working a part-time job at a Mediterranean restaurant called “Anzo’s.”
