“I started playing in band in sixth grade over at Lantana Middle. Sometimes I play trumpet, but I mostly play my french horn. I had super awesome teachers named Ms. Wolgin and Ms. Langerholc and I give all my thanks to them. I’ve been to All District and All State honor bands. However, high school has given me twice the opportunities I had in Middle School. Santaluces feels like home, especially in the band room. I have lots of friends that suit me, and they always make me very happy! I’m not sure if I would make playing my job or just as a hobby, but I sure do want to continue. Music makes me feel very happy. It clears my mind when I play my instrument and it’s my passion. Music is not what I do, it is who I am.”

Hello! I'm Emily and I'm a Senior. This is my second year in newspaper. I love being an editor of The Tribe and journalism is one of my many passions! I am also the 2016/17 Band Captain at this school. I've been in the Music Academy since freshman year. I play flute primarily, and have been lucky to play many other instruments through the years. I plan to go to Florida State University, though I don't know what I want to study quite yet. All I do know is that I hope to continue both band and journalism in college.
