“Well I started dancing at 5 years old and used to dance at home to Michael Jackson and Chris Brown music videos. I picked up simple moves and turned them into my own style and creation. Before I knew it, I was performing at talent shows and even at pep rallies in middle schools with my coach, Mr.Johnson. I soon developed choreography skills and formed a dance crew at [my] middle school and battled two other crews. We came in second place because I couldn’t do extreme moves, so I learned how to do a backflip. I started to add this to my dance moves to finish people off; it helped me win. But after a short amount of time it became a little less popular. After I came to Santaluces I learned about breakdancing and then I did my first performance at a pep rally which blew minds. I then started going to Sean’s Dance Studio with my coach, Angelo Angione and my crew. [My coach] helped me pull off stunts at basketball games. Ever since [I started breakdancing,] I have been into it and have a desire to learn more about it.”

Hey! My name is Alicia and I am a 17-year-old Junior. This is my first year in journalism and I love it. I enjoy listening to Pop music; one of my favorite artists is The Weeknd. I also like watching beauty, vlogs, and DIY YouTube videos. Every summer I volunteer at summer camps as an assistant counselor for 4-6 year olds. I plan on going to FAU to study education and become an elementary school teacher.
