This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Eduardo Castrejon, a junior here at Santaluces. He’s an enthusiastic and dedicated student at Santaluces, who participates in various clubs including Best Buddies. His favorite memories of Santaluces are the lunch events and spirit weeks, which help bring people together while at school and helped him to better adjust to Santaluces. When asked about advice for students academically, he emphasized the importance of time management. He says that, “If you are in a class where you are given free time, do your homework during that time.” He believes that it’s so important to keep ahead of assignments, as it will save you a lot of time and work in the long run. It will also help you build important skills so that you can do better throughout high school.
When I asked about any social advice for students, he emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself. “Be yourself, be kind and stay in your own lane”, he stated. He believes its important to not try and be someone you’re not, as it will only lead to you hurting yourself and the other people around you. It could also make you more unsure of yourself, which can affect the decisions you make while in high school.
His favorite classes include Drama class, Geometry, Biology, AICE General Paper, World History and Digital Media. He prefers these classes mainly because of the positive experiences he has with teachers, that make the classroom environment much better. He also likes how engaging the classes are, which keep him interested in what is being taught.
After high school, Eduardo plans to go to college and get a Bachelors degree. Eventually, he one day wants to pursue a master’s degree as well in whichever field he ultimately decides on . He plans on keeping his options open until then.
