Lancers Rout Chiefs In Home Opener

The Chiefs came in to this game with a promising start of 2-1 after dominating the last two teams and putting up high numbers on the scoreboard. On the other side, John I Leonard came in at a record of 0-4, and they brought their A game to Chief country.

In the first half, mistakes that could have changed the game were made by both the offense and defense. But the woes did not end there, the Chiefs gave up 21 unanswered points in the first half. Not much changed in the second half as John I went to score two more touchdowns in the 3rd and 4th quarters. In the 4th, Santaluces responded when QB Patrick Mayes connected with Franklin Poulina for a late attempt at a possible comeback. But it was not enough as the Chiefs lose to the Lancers 34-6.

Next week, the Chiefs go to Boca Raton High School in a clash with the Bobcats.

Final Score:

John I. Leonard: 34

Santaluces: 6
