The Chiefs kicked off this year with a 47-0 loss in the annual kick off classic against the Palm Bay Pirates.
The Chiefs finished with a 3-7 season last year, with victories over Cardinal Newman, Olympic Heights and Lake Worth.
After a long off-season, with numerous transfers and the departure of the class of 2016, the Chiefs will start an official rebuilding year this Friday against Vero Beach. The Chiefs will look to avenge a 37-0 loss to Vero Beach last season.
The Chiefs have an ESPN West Palm top 63 Senior; wide receiver Franklin Poulina. The Senior receiver is ranked 56th in the county.
The Chiefs will likely start sophomore Arthur Gray Jr. at quarterback. A potential Gray to Paulina passing attack should keep opposing defenses on their heels.
Senior Olajuwon Theodore chimed in on this week’s match-up.
“If we play physical, grind every down and compete with high energy, we can upset Vero Beach,” said Theodore. “It has to be a complete team effort.”
The Chiefs are hungry to start off this year with a bang, and plan to shock the county with a road victory at Vero Beach to officially begin the 2016 season.
My Prediction:
Santaluces 20
Vero Beach 17
Overall, expect huge nights from seniors Franklin Poulina and Bradley Toussaint.
