The Chiefs lost 49-41 in quarter regionals to William Dwyer High School. This was the last game of the season for the Boys Varsity Basketball team, and the last game for seniors to make an impact.
It was obvious that the Boys didn’t play with much motivation. They were playing their hardest but their lack of drive did not allow them to push the ball as much as they wanted to. The previous heartbreaking loss to Park Vista might have been the reason for this lack of motivation.
With 8 loses in the season, 5 came from Atlantic and Park Vista High School. Besides those losses, the chiefs had a decent season this year.
With one of their best players, Kameri Brown, transferring before the season started, the Chiefs were missing a key part of their offense. With Brown on the team, some would say that the Chiefs could have been a different team.
With the seniors leaving at the end of the year, juniors Dashley Estime, Justine Roseme, and Josh Cage will be picking up where they left off. The Chiefs might have a problem with scoring next season, but with new players added next year, the Chiefs might have a pretty good team.
