Beauty within Wynwood

Tourists that come to Florida usually go to Miami. Most people don’t know about Wynwood Walls. The walls within Wynwood are very beautiful and show the creativity that South Florida has to offer. The Wynwood Walls are located at 2520 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127. The Wynwood Walls are free to view but parking is pricey. The Walls have been called the “Museum of the Streets” by  Jeffrey Deitch, who has a contemporary art gallery in New York City.

Tony Goldman is the creator of the walls and he, being a renown community revitalizer, wanted to transform the walls into something great. Tony states, “Wynwood’s large stock of warehouse buildings, all with no windows, would be my giant canvases. To bring to them the greatest street art ever seen in one place.” These walls make a simple statement an extravagant statement: art is universal. Artists around the world have come to Miami to make masterpieces on these walls time and time again. The Wynwood Walls have seen over 50 artists representing about 16 countries and have covered over 80,000 square feet of space on the walls.

These walls even have a book based on them. It’s dedicated to all the artists who contributed to the making of the Wynwood Walls, the book is a must-have for anyone interested in the project. There is a documentary named, “Here Comes the Neighborhood” that shows the evolution of the Wynwood neighborhood.

Overall, these walls are one of a kind. If you like urban graffiti, street art, or art in general then, these walls are for you.
