I am back with my final senior crown DIY tutorial, this time the crown is based on the Princess and The Frog movie. It includes many aspects of the swamp that can be seen during the scenes where Tiana and Naveen are hopping around and confessing their love for each other. As a senior, we only have less than 3 months of school left, so why not make it as memorable and creative as possible? If you want a colorful and floral-looking crown then this is the perfect DIY for you.
Supplies (Dollar Tree and Amazon):
- Burger King crown
- Green acrylic paint
- Artificial moss
- Faux flowers
- Hot glue gun
- Hot glue sticks
- Faux butterfly stickers
- Gold glitter sticker letters
- Paint palette
- Paintbrush
How to make your own senior crown:
- Gather your materials.
- Pour the green paint onto the paint palette.
- Apply 2-4 coats of paint onto both sides of the crown.
- Grab your stickers and glue down the words “the senior and the diploma” in any place of your choice, I placed the letters from left to right in hopes of the letters being visible from different directions.
- Hot glue moss to the bottom of your crown.
- Choose any pattern of your choice for your flowers, whether it be blue, white, pink, etc.
- Glue the flowers on top of the moss.
- Glue 3 lily pads to the top of your crown.
- Glue butterflies in the center of the lily pads.
- Glue flowers to the top of your crown.
- Glue flowers on any remaining spaces.
The Princess and The Frog is my favorite movie of all time, it shows watchers that a woman can get through any obstacles being thrown at her and reach her goal if she never gives up. The movie itself is very appealing to people of all ages and to the eye by showcasing the beauty of nature and true love. This senior crown is the perfect idea for fellow lovers of crafting and the movie itself, you can even add your own spin to my idea and picture a specific scene on your crown if you’re feeling extra creative.
