At the beginning of every year, Palm Beach County hosts the South Florida Fair for families & friends to have a fun experience. There are several activities for all ages: rides, games, an arcade, petting zoos, and new trending foods to try. Every year, my dad has taken his kids to the fair, and I still remember the experience from when I was little. It was just very special and fun.
I can still remember what my favorite ride was when I was little, it was called the Happy Swing. When I went to the fair on Tuesday, January 27th, I saw that ride and it gave me such nostalgia from when I was little. The first day to go to the fair was on Friday, January 16th, but it closed on Sunday, February 1st. I went on Tuesday the 27th because it was $2 Tuesday which was only on January 20th & January 27th. When I went, it was really crowded because it was one of the days when it was the cheapest to get in.
There was a wide range of trending food such as Dubai chocolate bars, Dubai chocolate strawberry cups, and even Dubai chocolate funnel cake. They had the Korean corn dogs which is a thick cheese stick wrapped in dough and fried. They also have sausage ones and ones with half cheese and half sausage. There was all of the traditional fair food such as (regular) funnel cake, fried Oreos, elephant ears, nachos, turkey legs, popcorn, cotton candy, and much more. There are so many different food options that you have to go and try them all for yourself.
I, personally, feel sick if I do too many rides, since most of the rides at the fair consist of spinning. I like roller coasters better, but the only roller coaster that they had was shut down. My favorite ride at the fair was the Magnum. That one did spin in a circle as usual but it wasn’t that fast, since we were also rocking back and forth while spinning. I was there with my best friend and she was at a separate seat from me and she said the seat she was in flipped upside down and did a whole 360. Luckily, mine didn’t and I just kept rocking back and forth. However, a ride I will never go on is the Zipper. It’s a tall ride where riders sit in small, tight cages that spin and slip while the ride rotates in a big circle. That would make me sick, especially from how tight it is.
Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to the petting zoo. But, I did go to the arcade, which was just filled with claw machines with a big variety of stuffed animals. There was also a ring toss, but I’m pretty sure that was it. Overall, my experience at the fair was fun and special since I was with my friends and family.
