“The most memorable moment of my life was when I went to the Dominican Republic for our first family trip. I remember my dad driving for hours and we would stop at each station so we could get our passports checked and offer food to the guards. Not that we prepared them food, but they were more than happy to ask for some and we gladly shared. We drove through the provincial area for hours; it was a very peaceful nothing compared to the city. The loud music blasting from every corner, and the big overviewed flat screen gave it away, we finally arrived at our destination. We stayed at a hotel that had a beautiful balcony with an amazing overview of the city. We spent a lot of time shopping and embracing a new culture.”

Nicole Kalpin, Staff Writer
Hello, my name is Nicole Kalpin, I'm a senior, and this is my first year writing for the newspaper. I've attended Santaluces since I was a freshman. Most often I'll be spending my time reading, writing, or talking with my friends. I absolutely love listening to music, my favorite being from the Classic Rock genre. I can be described as a quiet person but I can be anything but when you get to know me. After I graduate, I hope to pursue a career in audiology or education.
