“So my best memory is when I was ten. My family and I went deep sea fishing. We were on the boat for about ten hours that day. It was a really nice day; the waves weren’t really crazy about 1.5 feet. I felt a hard tug on my reel and began reeling up whatever was on the end of it. Once I finally reeled it up, I saw it was a baby hammerhead shark! I don’t remember how my family reacted towards me catching it because I was to focused on the shark. I felt amazing after I pulled in into the boat, but we let it go. This is my best memory because that was the first time I ever caught a hammerhead shark.”

Hi, my name is Haley and I am a senior this year at Santaluces. This is my first year on The Tribe and I'm excited to share my ideas with the school. I've been on the varsity swim team for four years and the varsity wrestling team for three years. This past year I came in 3rd place at the Florida Girls States for wrestling at the 106 lb weight class. It was my first time competing at Girls States and I was shocked to see how many girls were actually competing in the tournament. I can't wait to see what this upcoming wrestling season has in stored for me and hope to be able to return to the Florida Girls States to grab the 1st place title. When I'm not at practice, I usually spend my time going to the beach and going on adventures with my friends. I love the ocean and marine life, which is why I'm excited to further my education at a university to study marine biology.
