Santaluces Junior Ilia Sein has been in the JROTC academy for almost four years now. She is very passionate about the program. Each Academy is designed to help students further pursue their interests and this academy did just that for Sein.
” I love being in the program and being involved with the Drill Team. I get to meet other cadets from other schools, and compete against them in a friendly environment. I also really enjoy The JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) summer camp.” said Sein.
When it comes to the program Sein believes it is really great way to help boost up confidence, and makes friends.
“It is easy and fun, if you join the after school activities or go to events you’ll meet great people and you learn leadership skills and confidence along the way. The drill team is very fun too, I’ve made new friends from other schools, and you get to become closer with your teammates, they become your family.”
For college Sein would like to go to Palm Beach State for her Associates Degree, then to Savannah College of Art and Design(SCAD) for film and editing.
To anyone wanting to join the JROTC academy, Sein says, “don’t be afraid, join the teams, go to the JCLC camp and just have fun.”
