2022-23 NFL Conference championship matchups.

After a crazy divisional round weekend, the stakes are as high as ever with four teams remaining in the NFL playoffs.

This weekend, the remaining four teams will play for their respective conferences for a chance to play in the Super Bowl. On the AFC side of the bracket, the Kansas City Chiefs come into this AFC championship with only three losses on the season and will look to advance to the Super Bowl after falling short last year. The strangest thing is the team that ended their Super Bowl hopes last season is the team that they are going up against again in the exact same situation.

After an excellent performance in Buffalo, the Cincinnati Bengals are entering the AFC championship with only four losses in the season and are looking forward to once again crushing the Kansas City Chiefs’ dreams of playing in the Super Bowl. The Bengals definitely still have a bad taste in their mouth after last year’s Super Bowl loss to the LA Rams and are looking forward to winning it all and it starts this weekend.

On the NFC side of the bracket, the Philadelphia Eagles have by far been playing as the best team in the league all season long. Jalen Hurts, who is an MVP front runner, has been nothing but amazing in his 4th season in the league.  The Eagles come into this NFC championship game 15-3 with losses that occur without Jalen Hurts playing in the game. Entering the playoffs with the #1 seed, the Eagles are definitely a fan favorite to win the whole thing, but their opponent, the San Francisco 49ers, looks to put an end to Philadelphia’s great season.

The 49ers come into this game 15-4 and there has been a lot of talk about how good Jalen Hurts is for the Eagles, but this 7th round rookie quarterback has truly had an unbelievable season. Brock Purdy, a 7th round draft pick from Iowa State, has been great ever since he took his first snap in week 12 against the Miami Dolphins. Trey Lance, who was announced as the starting quarterback for the 49ers, suffered from injury earlier in the season, therefore, Jimmy Garoppolo was named the starter again for the 49ers.

However, during the game against the Dolphins, Garoppolo went down with a broken foot. This led to rookie Brock Purdy being thrust into action and he played amazing. He ended up finishing the regular season, helping the 49ers clinch their division, and have led San Francisco to the NFC championship game. This should be a great match up; both teams are going to do whatever it possibly takes to advance to the biggest stage of the NFL.
