Chiefs of Santaluces: Kaythleen Escribano

One year I went to Colombia with my mom, my dad, and my sister. The plane ride was only two hours long. We then took a taxi to Medellin where we stayed with my uncle at his house. The next day, we went up to the mountains by bus. I was scared because I get car sick easily. The bus ride ended up being terrifying. We were driving right at the edge of the mountain. If you looked down you can see the ground from a far distance. At the top of the mountain we reached a town my mom grew up in. It was almost hidden, like a secret town. It looked like a mini paradise. There were bright vibrant colors around me – like the grass. When I met my mother’s family they were very inviting, and it was amazing to know that I had family across the world.
