Chiefs of Santaluces: Abbey Callo

Haley Hinkofer, Staff Writer

“During a softball game my sophomore year, we were playing against Atlantic. There were two outs and the bases were loaded. I bunted a ball and made it safe to the first base but there was an overthrow. I was able to run to second base and it kept getting overthrown and the plays were getting missed. I made it all the way home! It made me feel really amazing because that was my first bunt home run. It’s really rare because¬†usually you don’t get a home run off a bunt. I was really proud of myself and the team went crazy. They all stood outside the dugout when I got there cheering, hugging, and giving my high fives. It was probably the best moment of school ball that I have had.”
