Chiefs of Santaluces: Shawn Dinh

“My favorite memory for me is learning this breakdancing move, Master Swipes. Which is a basic power move that involves leaning back and whipping one’s arms to one side to touch the ground, then following through with the legs, twisting 360 degrees to land on the ground again. Even though it’s a basic power move, I put weeks into grinding it out and learning the technique behind this move. A lot of torque and momentum is used in executing this move. After four weeks I was able to get it. Honestly, with utilizing my hips and gaining that momentum, it felt like I was flying. I might be over exaggerating but it was a really cool experience. And not to be corny but it really shows that if you set your mind to it, you can accomplish anything because I remember having a tough time trying to get this move down, and now, I’m on to bigger and tougher moves.”
