Junior Schneider Nozius is a very well-known student here at Santaluces High School. He’s attended Santaluces for the last three years and plans on finishing high school as a Chief. Schneider is a member of the track team and captain of the Chiefs Chop Squad.
Schneider is not only the captain of the school’s newest club, Chop Squad, but also its founder. Chop Squad is an afterschool club where the members rehearse certain chants, and when the time comes, they attend school sports events to cheer on our Chiefs. He and his fellow captain, Coach Ross, created the Chop Squad to give every football and basketball game a more lively feeling. His main focus was to let the student body be able to interact with the game.
Being the captain of Chop Squad, Schneider has many responsibilities. His main responsibility is to make sure his fellow members remember each chant for the event. He also has to make sure that the equipment is ready and the members are appropriately dressed. His last job as a leader is to ensure that everyone at the game is hyped and makes noise for our school. The Chop Squad attends every football and basketball game in the bleachers to support the Chiefs and bring energy to the fans.
Schneider was also a part of the school’s track team last year and was one of the top of the team. He ran the 400-meter race in 54.48, which continues to be his record. He also participated in the long jump with a 5.67 meter best and the high jump with a 1.67 meter best. He plans on joining the track team again this year and with his A and B grade averages he will have no problem academically.
Schneider has helped Santaluces grow throughout his years here and continues to bring his school spirit every day.
