Boba tea is a Taiwanese tea-based drink that was originally made in Taichung over thirty years ago.
Most of the recipes that are made are a combination of the boba tea with either milk or fruit. There’s various fruit options, basically any fruit you can think of. Typically bōbà, chewy tapioca balls, are added to the beverage, which is what is seen at the bottom of the cup. They also come in several different flavors such as strawberry, honey, and mango.
There’s many different shops where you can purchase boba tea, but one of the most popular is Black Pearl Boba, at the Wellington Mall.
