“I was asked to go to a job interview at a facility that taught art and design. I told them I didn’t want to be a teacher, I had no desire to be a teacher. They told me, ‘Just go for the interview, don’t worry about it, you just have to fulfill the requirements of an interview.’ When I got to the school, and interviewed, spoke to the students, showed them my portfolio, explained what I was doing in the industry, they were so interested. They gave such gratification. They had a desire to learn, to know, to gain the knowledge. I stayed. And that was 40 years ago. It’s a passion. And you must have the passion, desire, and the love to teach. It’s a thankless job, and you have to stick to it. And if you’re looking for something out of it, except self-satisfaction, you probably wont find it. The successes–major successes–are few and far between. Those who will succeed will succeed in spite of you.”
