Ms. Renzette’s Song of the Day

August+25th+Song+Of+The+Day
August 25th Song Of The Day

If you’ve ever passed by Room 8128 or you’re in Ms. Renzette’s AICE Environmental Management class, you may have heard music playing from her room. Ms. Renzette plays a different song every day during class exchange for her students to enjoy before starting instruction. This year’s theme song is “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye, which is what she starts her playlist off with. She included some throwback gems like “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross, “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers, and “All About You” by The Knocks. Her playlist also consists of songs you may have heard on social media. “Pink + White” by Frank Ocean, “JOY (Unspeakable)” by Voices of Fire ft. Pharrell Williams, and “Dance The Night (Barbie Soundtrack)” by Dua Lipa, just to name a few.

Personally, this is one of my favorite things about her class. Ms. Renzette puts great effort into creating a fun and comfortable class environment. She loves music and sees it as a way to connect with her students. Doing the Song Of The Day increases students’ dopamine (the neurotransmitter in your brain that affects your focus, memory, and motivation) and puts everyone in a lighter mood.
